Test from iPhone

This is a post from my iPhone ....

April 2010 30 days to go

I am flying from Melbourne to Seville in 30 days to start the Via de la Plata on May 19. Training is going well, cooler now but shorter days. I have been learning Spanish with Spanish Cat (thanks Luis and Gabriella, I am sure la genta will roll around the floor laughing at my Kiwi accent, but I feel some confidence), Radio Lingua (Coffee Break Spanish and Showtime Spanish are great podcasts) and numerous books and a husband who is learning Spanish also and knows Italian and Latin and rolls around the floor laughing at my terrible vowels. I have a 35 litre Traverse pack from Macpac, currently weighing in at 7kg. Got some great Asolo shoes from the Wilderness Shop in Box Hill, and some great lightweight gear from Paddy Pallin and Mt Bogong Equipment. Love my raincoat from Macpac, uses Event fabric, which I have tested out in the odd bit of rain we got this southern summer. Breathable and water proof. I am not taking any books - I have a couple of photocopied maps, printouts and summaries of guidebooks. Everything else is on my iPhone or memory stick, or information from lots of great blogs and websites. At first I was nervous about getting lost, carrying enough stuff, carrying too much stuff, struggling to walk that far, talking Spanish but I have done lots of preparation and am now very keen to get going.
